High expectations

Ugh! It has been a long time since my last post, so I apologize to all of my dedicated fans. There really is no reason for my slacking. Well, other than the fact that it's been tough trying to find the time when so much of it is spent competing for attention nowadays. And now that the weather is nice outside I prefer to be out riding my bike, kicking a ball, blowing bubbles or spraying down things with my new squirt gun. That's a fun toy, but apparently it comes with a double standard. Mom and dad repeatedly tell me and Sis not to squirt them in the house, but dad takes every opportunity to squirt the rest of us.

There have actually been a lot of fun things I to write about in the past month. Well, there is, of course, the baby. He's getting fat. I'm guessing he's been eating all the treats because when I ask for a treat I'm hearing, "No treats - they're all gone" more and more. Let's see - fat baby, no more treats . . . not too difficult to put that one together. (To be fair, I can't rule out Hannah as the treat snatcher. She's not looking too thin herself.)

Then there was Easter. That was a party. If you read dad's post about the egg hunt you can see that we didn't quite live up to his high expectations. He obviously blew it out of proportion, but he draws a compelling point that it is free candy and since I love candy I should be more motivated to attack and conquer. But he's the one that knows the drill, and he's a lot faster than those other kids. Why doesn't he gather the candy and just give it to me because he loves me? At least my grandparents hooked me up. Ankum Gammies!

Last night was Family Night. It was a lot of fun - well, everything but dinner. Dad forced me to eat BBQ chicken, but I put up a pretty good fight. Since I watched him force Hannah to eat that Easter egg a couple weeks ago (her fault) I knew I wouldn't be leaving the table until I ate it. I tried to fool him by just keeping it in my mouth, but he's smarter than I thought. Anyone out there have any good eating avoidance tactics? Anyway, back to family night. Mom taught the lesson after I said the prayer (lately that's a surefire way to remind mom and dad how cute I am). The lesson was about a guy that slept in a tent and had a dream about a tree, a railing, a big building and a river. Mom's a pretty good artist. Then we had ice cream and pop for a treat. Yummy.

Well, gotta go. Mom's calling me so I have to hide. I'll try to be better about writing regularly; I know you people have high expectations and I hate to disappoint.
